History

Hydra-Sports began manufacturing fiberglass fishing boats just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, in 1973. Since then, we’ve grown to become one of the best-known names in the business. In 1998, we moved to a larger facility in Columbia, South Carolina, and began concentrating exclusively on our specialty - bluewater fishing boats. These boats are the product of years of research and in-house development. Thanks to input from professional guides, tournament anglers and experienced boat owners, our engineering team incorporates the latest thinking into every boat we design.

In 2001, Hydra-Sports was acquired by Genmar, the largest maker of boats in the world. That same year, we moved our base of operations to the Genmar Manufacturing Facility in Sarasota, Florida. With more than one million square feet of space, our product line can continue growing bigger and better. Thanks to Genmar’s commitment to technology, Hydra-Sports boats will remain on the front lines of innovation in the boating industry.
