HYDRA-SPORTS® KINGFISH REIGN CONTINUES AS “SEA BANDIT” WINS WAL-MART FLW KINGFISH CHAMPIONSHIP
SARASOTA, Fla., November 20, 2006—Hydra-Sports® boats capped off a stellar kingfish season with a championship win. Captain Dennis Stark from Pinebluff, N.C., led the contest’s only two-man crew to victory at the prestigious Wal-Mart FLW Kingfish Tour Championship on November 9, in Mount Pleasant, S.C., and left with the sport’s top prize of $150,000, including Hydra-Sports and Yamaha bonuses. “Team Sea Bandit” won the lucrative tournament in Stark’s Hydra-Sports 2900CC with twin Yamaha 250s.

Stark’s team finished second with a fish weighing 38 pounds, 2 ounces, on Saturday, but was able to seal the win with a third-place, 43-pound, 15-ounce catch from Friday. The team’s final scorecard read 82 pounds, 1 ounce.
All five teams returned to the area off the South Carolina coast known as “the Not-So-Secret Hole” to fish the tournament. Stark’s team caught the smoker on a short, surface line with a live blue runner.
“After the first time around, we knew we would have to wait until he was ready to be caught,” said Jay Huggins, a “Team Sea Bandit” angler. “After letting him run for awhile, we were able to get him on the second try.”
The 2900CC, like the other large center consoles in the Hydra-Sports Vector™ series, was designed from the keel up for tournament-level fishing. At 29’8” overall with a 9’8” beam, the 2900CC is a roomy, but trailerable platform. The 300-gallon fuel capacity and fast, sleek design give the boat exceptional range.
Standard features include a 55-gallon lighted baitwell, three insulated fishboxes and ample storage throughout, including an in-floor bin forward that is ideal for storing large cast nets. A t-top comes standard, along with cockpit bolsters and toe rail. Popular options include outriggers, the latest Raymarine electronics and auto pilot, T-top enclosure and even a second livewell in place of the aft fishbox.
Hydra-Sports boats and their crews have had an exceptional year on the tournament circuit. Captain Nick Parrish and his “Team Castrol” Hydra-Sports 3300CC, powered by triple Yamaha 250s won the prestigious Wal-Mart FLW Kingfish Tour “Team of the Year” title earlier this month.
The $150,000 winner’s check for this championship included a $75,000 tournament purse, plus $37,500 each in bonus money from both Yamaha and Hydra-Sports.

The $1.82 million FLW Kingfish Tour consists of four regular-season events. After these four events are completed, the top 50 teams compete in three-day, no-entry-fee $500,000 FLW Kingfish Tour Championship for a chance to win as much as $150,000.
